Katrina Pennock is a painter based in the hinterland of Southern Queensland in Australia.
She holds a BA in Visual and Performing Arts from the Victorian College of the Arts and a wide knowledge and understanding of Australian art and painting.
Katrina became immersed in the practice of painting during a residency in Provence, France in 2022 and since then has exhibited in France, Sydney, Brisbane and regional Queensland.
She has just been selected for the new Curator’s Choice exhibition and prize at the 2026 Fleurieu Biennale and was a finalist in the 2026 John Villers Outback Art Prize. She was a also a finalist in the Du Rietz Art Award 2025, Salon des Refusés, Lethbridge Small Scale Art Prize 2024, Du Rietz Art Award 2024 and the inaugural Noosa Art Prize 2024.
Katrina Pennock’s work embraces a strong, evocative sense of light and place, inspired by her love of European and Australian landscape painters. With respect to tradition she describes her work as modern romantic landscapes.
